SINGING BIOGRAPHY

​

Born in California and raised in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, Erin is a girl of natural vocal beauty and ambition. Her passion for music and theater began in first grade when she played ‘The Rose’ in her school’s Christmas pageant and since then, she hasn’t stepped off the stage.

Erin began a more formal training in voice and theater at the Tara School of Performing Arts in 1996. She performed with the company for 5 years and later launched a mini career in Community Theater with the Jesters Dinner Theater of Longmont, Co.

The following year, she started private voice lessons with Carolyn Val-Schmidt. Carolyn is a former Metropolitan Opera and Carnegie Hall alum and was generous in sharing her techniques and lessons with Erin over their following 10 years together.

Erin continued to perform as a musical theater vocalist with several theaters around Colorado including The Perry Mansfield Theater, Lion’s Group A Cappella, The CSU Summer Theater Program, The Choir of the Bells, The Shining Mountain High School Choir and Jazz Band, The Tara Performing Arts Center and the Jesters Dinner Theater. Additionally, she held the lead in each of her high school musicals and class dramatic productions.

After graduating from High School in 2002, she moved to Boston, Massachusetts to pursue her music career at the Berklee College of Music. There, she sang for four years in numerous ensembles and groups and majored in Music Business Management with an emphasis on Vocal Performance. During her enrollment, she also ran the college record label Heavy Rotation Records and produced and promoted the CD “Dorm Sessions Vol. 3.” Her evenings were spent working for the Bulfinch Yacht Club as a booking agent and club promoter, and working with the school’s Music Business Association, The Music Law Society, and the Zygote Booking and Promotions Group.

Her voice instructor during her Berklee education was Voice Department Director Jan Shapiro, as well as technique supervisor Anne Peckham. After graduating in 2006, Erin Ashlee Rose returned to Colorado and returned to voice lessons with Carolyn till 2008. She now studies with Mary Ann Kehler and continues to perform at varying locations around Denver and Boulder.

Erin is now booking weddings and venue showcases with her collection of musical theater, contemporary pop/country and 40’s, 50’s classics. She is always looking for her next band as well!
